California Low Cost Automobile Insurance Program For Low Income

What is the California Low Cost Automobile Insurance Program(CLCA)?

The primary goal of the California Low Cost Automobile Insurance Program (CLCA) is to provide an affordable auto insurance option to low-income good drivers.

California Law requires that all drivers be insured. However, too many low-income drivers remain uninsured because the costs of standard insurance premiums are beyond their financial reach.

The California Low Cost Automobile Insurance Program provides affordable liability only auto insurance that meets the state's financial responsibility laws.

The program is administered by the California Automobile Assigned Risk Plan and policies are written by California Licensed Insurance Companies.

The CLCA program is not subsidized by taxpayers. Rates are set and adjusted annually in each county so that the premiums collected are sufficient to cover losses and expenses in each county.

About elmoloveshergoldfish

resort. I have had 2 perfectly good cars well maintained. Both cars the timing belt broke and bent the rods in the engine or something like that anyway. Whatever happened they have both ended up in the junk yard. I have put a down payment on a car. (non-refundable). I didn't realise how much the insurance was going to cost. I immediatly began looking for babysitters for a part-time job and wow they all want more than i can afford. Why would I want to leave my kids for like 75 dollars a week? If that much would be left over after I paid the sitter. So then I decided I would put out some ads for babysitting in my home evenings and weekends. I have not got any responses. Then I thought I'd sell stuff on ebay. That would be great if I had something to sell! School is starting soon and my 5 year old basically has enough clothes that are suitable for school all he needs is a backpack a haircut and shoes. However my 10 year old needs all new clothes, a backpack, shoes, and a haircut. My kids received 2 kittens for easter that I need to have fixed I have the paws voucher but my car broke down on the way to the vet so I never made it there with them. If I don't do something soon we will end up with a litter of kittens or a male cat with spraying problems. (can't have a cat like that in the house!) It would crush my kids if I had to get rid of him! Now I've got a leaky pipe under my sink that I didn't notice right away so it soaked the wood under the sink and mold grows there i am trying to dry it out but not working I have a big bowl under there to collect the water but it seems to keep leeking faster. I would ask for a loan but the way things are looking there is no way I would be able to pay it back. winter is coming and I'm going to need to fill up the tank with kerosene. (ran out last year). i have a propane dryer that when I turn it on the trailor smells of propane so I have been using my old apartment sized one. But it's not vented. I'm going to have to start shelling out lunch money for two kids they get reduced lunch but I'm barely going to have anything left out of my check after the car payment and insurance plus all my normal bills. I plan on only making payments on the car until Februaray when I get my income tax check then I would like to pay it off to save money on the interest and also reduce the insurance price a bit. I just don't know what to do until then. I have applied for foodstamps but I make a couple dollars to much. In order to get into school my 5 year old need a physical and vaccines and an eye exam. They both need to have physicals for the before and after school program they attend or they will be kicked out leaving me with no childcare. Their regular doctors office can't get them in untill october school start in august. So I need to take them to concentra to get the physicals and forms filled out then take them to the department of health for vaccines. I have no idea how I am going to get all this done. If anyone can help even just a little I would really appreciate it. I work full time I am not lazy. Who knows what going to come up over the next few months. I'm just scared I have made a huge mistake but I need a car. what am I suposed to do?

Only need $360 * Please help

Hi. I have been having a spell of really bad luck for the past 9 weeks. I have a seasonal job, (the only kind of work for my area) which pays fairly well when the time is good, but not in the winter months. My extra source of income for this time of year suddenly was shut down due to health issues with my employer, so things have been extremely hard the last few months. I have managed to hold my head above water on all my basic bills except two. My phone and my car insurance. These two add up to $360. Things will get back on track in March, but in the meantime, I really need some help to get there. Please do what you can. It is so difficult to ask for help, but I can't communicate without the phone service (a land line not a cell phone), and I can't drive without my insurance. It has been so hard this far, please help if you can. I know that better days are coming, but as they say, it is always darkest before the dawn. Please help me get there in one piece. Thanks so much, and bless you all.

Hello,

I am seeking assistance to help pay car insurance this month. I am full time student and have just started working at a call center but will not be paid for two weeks, the payment is due tomorrow 5/11/06. If I cannot pay the insurance will lapse and I will not be able to get to work or the last days of finals. I am looking for any assistance, a mirco-loan for the $166.00 that I will be able to repay in two weeks and will be willing to sign a promisary note to that effect. If anyone can help please contact me at lovelyskater20@yahoo.com. Thank you

I need financial help

I need financial assistance to help cover my rent, car payment, utilities, car insurance and telephone bill for this month.  I recently lost my job and what I had saved in the bank to cover emergency expenses is now depleted. I have noone to help me and i'm very concerned that I may become homless before my search for employment becomes fruitful.
